Arriving on Netflix this Friday is Pieces of Her<\/a> \u2013 a brand new thriller based on Karin Slaughter\u2019s novel of the same name<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starring Toni Collette, the eight-parter follows middle-aged speech therapist Laura Oliver who appears to lead a normal life \u2013 however, when she gets caught up in the middle of a mass diner shooting with her daughter Andy (Bella Heathcote), her dark past comes back to haunt her.<\/p>\n

While the series is based in a sleepy town in Georgia, production actually took place on the other side of the globe.<\/p>\n

Where is Pieces of Her set?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Pieces of Her is set in the town of Belle Isle, in Georgia \u2013 the American state.<\/p>\n

As for whether Belle Isle is a real place, there is a small area near the town of Keller in Georgia called Belle Island.<\/p>\n

While the show is set in Georgia, the drama was actually filmed in Australia back in January 2021, according to If.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking about production taking place in Australia, New South Wales Minister for the Arts Don Harwin said: \u201cThrough the NSW Government\u2019s Made in NSW fund, and with our successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic making NSW a highly attractive place to film.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are sending a clear message that we are open for business, a safe location to film, and keen to welcome great opportunities to the state,\u201d he continued. \u201cNetflix<\/a>\u2019s Pieces of Her will deliver a substantial investment to the state\u2019s economy and provide a significant amount of work for local cast and crew along with catering, security and other on-set operation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Filming took place in Sydney Olympic Park, according to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n
