March saw the addition of a brand new thriller to Netflix. With its twisty plot and stellar cast, Pieces of Her<\/a> quickly nabbed a spot in the top streamed shows on the platform \u2013 but will it be back for round two?<\/p>\n

Though the Pieces of Her ending<\/a> certainly tied things up nicely, that\u2019s not to say the drama couldn\u2019t return, especially given its popularity. It is, however, currently billed as a limited series so the surviving Pieces of Her cast<\/a> might not reunite for round two after all.<\/p>\n

The series stars Toni Collette as Laura Oliver, a speech therapist whose dark past resurfaces after she saves daughter Andy (Bella Heathcote) from a deadly shooter in a diner. Though Andy managed to unravel her mother\u2019s past \u2013 and her own story in the process \u2013 there\u2019s definitely more room for the pair\u2019s relationship to be further explored.<\/p>\n

While Netflix<\/a> hasn\u2019t confirmed anything just yet, we\u2019ve compiled all of the clues and theories around whether the thriller could be back for a second round.<\/p>\n

Will Pieces of Her return for season 2?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Netflix has not yet announced whether Pieces of Her will be back for season 2 and it was originally billed as a limited series, which usually indicates that it won\u2019t be back for a second series.<\/p>\n
That being said, the thriller is\u00a0currently topping the Netflix steaming charts so we wouldn\u2019t be surprised if this changes.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not the first time that a limited series has been renewed for more seasons \u2013 for example, Luther, Big Little Lies and Killer Women were originally billed as limited series but returned to our screens.<\/p>\n
Pieces of Her season 2 release date speculation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If Pieces of Her is renewed, it will most likely arrive on our screens in\u00a02023 at the earliest.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
Season 1 began filming in early 2021 in Sydney and so took almost a year to debut on Netflix \u2013 although, given that restrictions relating to COVID-19 are relaxing, film and TV production on shows hopefully won\u2019t face as many delays as the industry has over the last two years.<\/p>\n
Pieces of Her season 2 cast speculation<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Spoilers ahead for Pieces of Her season 1<\/strong><\/p>\n
While we don\u2019t yet know whether Pieces of Her will return for season 2, we know that it would certainly need Toni Collette (Laura Oliver\/Jane Queller) to work, as well as Bella Heathcote, who plays Laura\/Jane\u2019s daughter Andy.<\/p>\n
We could also expect to see Omari Hardwick (Gordon Oliver), Jacob Scipio (Michael Vargas) and possibly David Wenham (Jasper Queller) reprise their roles, while Jessica Barden (Jane Queller) and Joe Dempsie (Nick Harp) could return as the younger versions of Jane and Nick if season 2 featured flashbacks.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, it\u2019s unlikely that Gil Birmingham would return to play Jane\u2019s Witness Protection Program handler Charlie Bass as he died in the penultimate episode of season 1.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, adult Nick, who is played by Aaron Jeffery), was sent to prison at the end of season 1 \u2013 but he could still return in season 2 if Jane or Andy go to visit him.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s difficult to know what Pieces of Her would cover as we don\u2019t know for sure whether it will even return \u2013 however, the season finale did leave a few loose ends for a follow-up to explore if Netflix did decide to renew the thriller.<\/p>\n
When we left Laura\/Jane (Toni Collette), she\u2019d just received a call from her brother Jasper Queller (David Wenham), who\u2019d been announced as an official vice presidential candidate and had learned that it was Jane who had given Grace Juno (Catherine McClements) the gun she used to kill her father Martin Queller (Terry O\u2019Quinn). While he says that he can keep the secret quiet, he adds: \u201cI\u2019ll be in touch\u201d, implying that he may use this knowledge as leverage.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s possible that season 2 could explore this new dynamic between Jasper and Jane, who has just escaped the terror of living in constant fear of Nick to now be beholden to her morally corrupt brother Jasper.<\/p>\n
