Why Didn\u2019t They Ask Evans? is set to be one of BritBox\u2019s biggest ever originals, with a star-studded cast including Will Poulter, Lucy Boynton, Conleth Hill and Hugh Laurie (who also directs).<\/p>\n

Now RadioTimes.com<\/a> has got an exclusive first-look at the three-part Agatha Christie adaptation, and it seems that Poulter\u2019s naval officer Bobby Jones will have his work cut out for him investigating this suspicious death.<\/p>\n

Take a look at the clip, which also features Hill, below.<\/p>\n\n<p>The series tells the story of Poulter\u2019s Bobby, the son of a vicar, who begins to investigate the death of a man who it seems fell from the top of a cliff. However, what makes the death suspicious is the mysterious question he asks, as seen in the above clip \u2013 \u201cWhy didn\u2019t they ask Evans?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The grim discovery isn\u2019t the only dramatic moment in the clip, as Bobby loses his footing and nearly takes a fall down the cliff at one stage \u2013 hinting that danger is never far away in the new drama.<\/p>\n<p>As Jones investigates the death with his childhood friend, Lady Frances \u2018Frankie\u2019 Derwent (Boynton), he hits upon a dark conspiracy of deceit, betrayal and murder, so buckle up for all the usual Agatha Christie twists and turns.<\/p> <p>Alongside the already stacked cast, the series is also set to feature <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/hugh-laurie-why-didnt-they-ask-evans-britbox-emma-thompson-newsupdate\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">cameos from Dame Emma Thompson and Jim Broadbent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Durrells star Miles Jupp, Downton Abbey\u2019s Amy Nuttall, Sex Education\u2019s Alistair Petrie, The Fast Show\u2019s Paul Whitehouse, Breeders\u2019 Morwenna Banks, and Black Mirror\u2019s Joshua James also have roles in the show.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Will Poulter is having quite the moment right now, having also been <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/movies\/will-poulter-guardians-of-the-galaxy-3-newsupdate\/"\">cast last year<\/a> in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 as Adam Warlock.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/why-didnt-ask-evans-release-date\/"\">Why Didn\u2019t They Ask Evans?<\/a> arrives on BritBox on 14th April 2022.
