RadioTimes.com<\/a> can exclusively reveal a brand new featurette offering a behind-the-scenes look at the show.<\/p>\nThe clip sees Oldman and his fellow cast members introduce the series ahead of its launch at the start of April, and also includes plenty of new footage to give fans a taste of what to expect.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not casinos, champagne, and Aston Martins,\u201d Oldman explains at the start of the featurette. \u201cIt\u2019s not James Bond.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Slow Horses are a real bunch of misfits and they were all at one time working at MI5, and the thing that they have in common is that they have f-d up.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey park them in an old building far, far, far away from Regent\u2019s Park, where the centre of MI5 is,\u201d adds co-star Kristin Scott Thomas, before Olivia Cooke explains: \u201cAll these people want is to get back working for the top dogs.\u201d<\/p>
Speaking of his character, the leader of the group Jackson Lamb, he says: \u201cHe\u2019s rude and obnoxious to everyone around him, but he was a great agent and incredibly smart.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the featurette also sees another of the show\u2019s stars, Jack Lowden, pay tribute to working with Oldman, with the Dunkirk actor saying: \u201cWatching Gary work, the man\u2019s a genius, he\u2019s a proper stage actor, which is why he\u2019s got his feet on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n
Several of the actors point out that the show offers something different to many of the other espionage thrillers we\u2019ve seen on TV, with Rosalind Eleazar explaining: \u201cWe have a lot of spy dramas and I think that this one is unique, you can\u2019t really fit it into a particular genre.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSlow Horses is really good writing,\u201d adds Jonathon Pryce. \u201cThere\u2019s lots of twists and turns, not just in the story but in the characters.\u201d<\/p>\n
And Christopher Chung says: \u201cThis is going to be something really special. This is something that I haven\u2019t seen before, it\u2019s everything that you would want \u2013 action, humour, espionage, all in like the perfect mix.<\/p>\n
