Speaking to Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, the BBC\u2019s Chief Content Office Charlotte Moore enthused about the intriguing \u2013 and darkly comedic \u2013 series and pointed out the impressive viewing figures.<\/p>\n \u201cIn its first 30 days, 12 million people watched The Tourist \u2013 that\u2019s twice as big as the largest show, Stay Close, on Netflix.<\/p>\n \u201cThe power that the BBC has to reach millions of people is far greater than we perhaps realise,\u201d she added.<\/p> Earlier this month, Dornan said he would \u201clove\u201d to reprise his role for a second season.<\/p>\n The actor told EW<\/a> that \u201cconversations\u201d were being had about the possibility of more episodes following the success of season 1.<\/p>\n Creators Harry and Jack Williams previously told RadioTimes.com<\/a> they were keen to make more, even though they hadn\u2019t originally planned to.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are talking about how we could return to this world, aren\u2019t we?\u201d Jack Williams said.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, this world and this tone,\u201d Harry Williams added. \u201cI feel like we\u2019re not done with that.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to The Tourist, the BBC also announced renewals for three of its biggest dramas from 2021.<\/p>\n Vigil, starring Suranne Jones, Martin Freeman\u2019s The Responder and the gripping prison drama Time will all be returning for second seasons.<\/p>\n The Tourist season 1 is available on BBC iPlayer.
