The new season introduces Will (played by Tom Brittney in the Grantchester cast<\/a>) to two potential love interests, Maya (Ellora Torchia) and Bonnie (Charlotte Ritchie), the latter becoming a shoulder for Will to cry on during his affair with Maya.<\/p>\n At the start of the season, Will is infatuated by his new forbidden romance with Maya, who turns out to be the fianc\u00e9e of DI Geordie Keating\u2019s boss. However, another arrival to Grantchester, Cathy\u2019s widowed niece Bonnie Evans, could turn out to be a more serious match for Will.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Robson Green, who plays Geordie, contrasted Will\u2019s reckless romance with Maya to his potential connection with Bonnie.<\/p>\n \u201c[Will] goes, \u2018She\u2019s the most incredible woman I\u2019ve ever met.\u2019 He\u2019s only known [Maya] for five minutes! That\u2019s not what relationships are about,\u201d Green explained. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to court women. You\u2019ve got to treat people with respect, you\u2019ve got to be kind, you\u2019ve got to understand them.<\/p>\n \u201cGeordie\u2019s pursuit of Cathy took a very, very long time, but he knew she was the one. And Geordie falsely believed when Maya was the one for Will until he discovers who she is, and he\u2019s only seen her for five minutes. \u2018She\u2019s not the one and maybe the love of your life, Will \u2013 [that] could be somebody that\u2019s on your doorstep.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cAnd this is when the lovely Charlotte Ritchie enters the frame as Bonnie.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cWhat she\u2019s going to offer is a kind of shoulder to cry on for Will throughout the series, and just gives him really strong and clear advice. Maybe Will is looking in the wrong direction. Maybe the love of his life might be staring right at him.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is scope for Bonnie to turn up [in season 8]. But it\u2019s more the effect she has on everybody in the story.
