With that in mind, it\u2019s no surprise that season 2 has already been commissioned \u2013 and when we caught up with Gunn, he was happy to give us a few hints about where the story of gun-toting vigilante Peacemaker (John Cena) and his friends could go next, noting that he had \u201ctonnes\u201d of ideas for what\u2019s coming up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that we see where [season 1] ends up. We see where Peacemaker is,\u201d Gunn told RadioTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think it\u2019s a whole other level of emotional difficulty that we\u2019re getting into with him. I\u2019m excited to explore that.\u201d<\/p> Gunn said that he was also keen to delve deeper into the supporting cast, specifically characters played by Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee and Freddie Stroma, who worked with Peacemaker across the series.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited to explore all of our other primary characters \u2013 you know, Adebayo and Harcourt and Economos and Vigilante,\u201d Gunn said. \u201cThey are all as important characters to Peacemaker as Peacemaker is.<\/p>\n \u201cSo really getting to know all of them, and seeing where they\u2019re coming from \u2013 we just have so many fun things in store for the audience, with who they are, and, you know, where they are. There\u2019s a lot of secrets to come.\u201d<\/p>\n Still, fans might have to wait a while before they find out what those secrets are. Gunn also told us that Peacemaker season 2 wasn\u2019t his main priority at the moment, with work continuing on Guardians of the Galaxy<\/a> productions for Marvel (including the now-filming Guardians Holiday special), alongside another secret project that has been taking up his time.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s something that will probably be coming before Peacemaker, and I\u2019ve put more work into that than I have into season 2 of Peacemaker,\u201d Gunn teased. \u201cEvil smile, evil smile.\u201d<\/p>\n Rumours have swirled for a while that Gunn has another The Suicide Squad spin-off in the works, so could this be the \u201csomething\u201d he\u2019s put so much work into? It\u2019s certainly possible \u2013 and from the sounds of it, fans could be getting to see it sooner than they expected.<\/p>\n Peacemaker is streaming on Sky and NOW, with new episodes airing on Tuesdays on Sky Max<\/a>.
