After a three-year hiatus, Ninja Warrior is on its way back to ITV this year and Chris Kamara couldn\u2019t be happier.<\/p>\n
The former footballer turned television presenter appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning to announce the return of the popular competition, which is based on the long-running Japanese sports show Sasuke.<\/p>\n
Each episode sees several contestants attempt to conquer a very difficult assault course, with only one participant \u2013 the appropriately named Tim Champion \u2013 conquering the entire course so far.<\/p>\n
After airing five seasons on ITV, Kamara told press in August 2020 that the show had been axed, but fans will be pleased to hear that decision has now been reversed and a revival is coming soon \u2013 with a couple of key format changes.<\/p>
\u201cI\u2019m so excited,\u201d Kamara said on GMB. \u201cWe thought it was finished, it wasn\u2019t coming back, but have faith\u2026 You know all the families talk to us about Ninja, it\u2019s family entertainment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey sit down together as a family and watch the toughest obstacle course in the world, and after five series we thought we would go forever. But then it stopped.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added with a triumphant cheer: \u201cBut now we\u2019re back!\u201d<\/p>\n
