The Foo Fighters have said that they are \u201cdevastated by the tragic and untimely loss\u201d of their drummer Taylor Hawkins, who has died aged 50.<\/p>\n

Hawkins, who was a member of the rock band for over two decades, was touring across South America with the group just before his death in Bogota, Columbia. No cause of death has been given.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Twitter, the band paid tribute to Hawkins, writing: \u201cHis musical spirit and infectious laughter with live on with all of us forever.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
