There are lots of reasons for Steven Moffat fans to be cheerful right now \u2013 with two big shows from the former Doctor Who showrunner set to arrive on our screens before 2022 is out.<\/p>\n

Later in the year, his mysterious David Tennant-starring thriller Inside Man<\/a> will air on BBC One, but first up is his brand new adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger\u2019s best-selling novel The Time Traveler\u2019s Wife<\/a> for HBO.<\/p>\n

Moffat has long claimed to be a huge fan of the book, and speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0Radio Times Covers Party<\/strong> this week he said that he hopes he\u2019s found a way to translate that passion to the small screen.<\/p>

\u201cI never thought I\u2019d get a shot at doing the actual Time Traveler\u2019s Wife,\u201d he explained. \u201cBut as anyone who\u2019s watched Doctor Who knows, I love that book.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve referenced it in a number of ways throughout, including my favourite bit \u2013 that Peter Capaldi\u2019s Doctor keeps his spare TARDIS key inside a copy of the Time Traveller\u2019s Wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m thrilled to be doing that. Just thrilled.\u201d<\/p>\n

And he added: \u201cI hope we\u2019ve found a way to make it work as a TV show. It\u2019s a hard one to do. Oh, God, I hope people like it. I mean, I love the book, so I hope my love translates onto the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n
