His Dark Materials is set to end with its upcoming third season, and the cast and crew have been teasing what we can expect.<\/p>\n
Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> at this year\u2019s Radio Times Covers Party<\/strong>, Will Parry actor Amir Wilson suggested we could be in for an emotional end to Lyra and Will\u2019s journey.<\/p>\n Wilson said: \u201cI think it\u2019s a lot darker, a lot sadder. It\u2019s definitely more emotional. I think it was definitely harder to film. There\u2019s a lot more going on, I think the introduction of a lot more characters as well. It\u2019s a lot to look forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked to describe the new season in three words, Wilson ominously chose \u201clove, loss and death\u201d.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, one of the series\u2019 executive producers, Jane Tranter, said: \u201cI think it\u2019s bigger. It\u2019s certainly bigger, it\u2019s certainly a little darker, but it\u2019s also more romantic.<\/p>\n \u201cThe third season of His Dark Materials is when all the questions of season 1 and season 2 finally are answered. But it\u2019s when we also start exploring the theme of love, romantic love, and love between mother and child, father and son. And I would say it\u2019s more thrills and spills than season 1 and 2 have been.\u201d<\/p> A date has not yet been confirmed for the fantasy series\u2019 return, but here\u2019s hoping we don\u2019t have long to wait to see how it all plays out.<\/p>\n For now, we were given our first glimpses<\/a> at the new season in an HBO trailer late last year, including the full return of James McAvoy\u2019s Lord Asriel.<\/p>\n Additional reporting by Huw Fullerton.<\/em><\/p>\n His Dark Materials season 3 is coming soon to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
