Peaky Blinders might be finishing tonight but creator Steven Knight isn\u2019t one to put his feet up for long, and the prolific writer has another show coming to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.<\/p>\n

A new teaser trailer for the Peaky Blinders<\/a> creator\u2019s upcoming series SAS: Rogue Heroes<\/a> has been launched by the BBC, offering fans a first look at the World War Two drama starring Connor Swindells, Jack O\u2019Connell, and Alfie Allen.<\/p>\n

The 30-second clip opens with a voiceover declaring: \u201cWe are a band of oddities, gentlemen, and pirates,\u201d while also setting the scene: Cairo, in 1941.<\/p>\n\n<p>We then hear Swindells\u2019 character\u00a0ask a recruit why he wants to fight, to which he responds: \u201cI just love killing fascists, sir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And the trailer manages to fit a lot more into its short run-time, with hints of romance, mystery, and one or two major explosions.<\/p>\n<p>We also get glimpses of several of the high-profile cast, which includes Dominic West (The Crown), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy), and Jason Watkins (McDonald & Dodds).<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no indication yet of exactly when the six-parter will air, beyond the fact that it is coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer at some point in 2022.<\/p> <p>Filmed in both the UK and Morocco, the series is described as a fictionalised account of \u201chow the world\u2019s greatest Special Forces unit, the SAS, was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of World War Two\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It sees eccentric young officer David Stirling (Swindells) devise a rebellious plan to gather the \u201ctoughest, boldest and brightest soldiers for a small undercover unit that will create mayhem behind enemy lines\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>And SAS: Rogue Heroes is not Knight\u2019s only upcoming project set during the days of the Second World War \u2013 the planned <a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama\/peaky-blinders-movie-untold-ww2-exclusive-newsupdate\/"\">Peaky Blinders film will also reportedly explore an \u201cuntold\u201d story<\/a> from the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know what\u2019s going to happen in those stories and it\u2019s about a sort of untold story that happened in the Second World War, which Peakys are going to be involved in,\u201d he explained in an exclusive interview with <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">RadioTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAS: Rogue Heroes will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2022. <\/strong><strong>Visit our\u00a0<a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/tv-listings\/"\">TV Guide<\/a>\u00a0to see what\u2019s on tonight,\u00a0or check out the rest of our\u00a0<a href=\""https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/drama"\" rel=\""noopener\" noreferrer=\"\">Drama<\/a>\u00a0coverage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\""editor-content\" mb-lg=\"\" hidden-print=\"\" js-piano-locked-content=\"\">\n<p><strong>The latest issue of Radio Times is on sale now \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/magazine-subscription\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener noopener noreferrer\" noreferrer=\"\" data-auth=\""NotApplicable"\" data-linkindex=\""0"\">subscribe now<\/a>\u00a0to get each issue delivered to your door.
