Louis Theroux is to front a new series in which he will interview some of the \u201cmost iconic names in the world of entertainment\u201d, the BBC has revealed.<\/p>\n

The BBC Two series \u2013 which has been given the working title The Louis Theroux Interviews \u2013 will begin with an episode that sees the popular documentarian join multi-award-winning musician Stormzy on tour and at home.<\/p>\n

According to the BBC, the episode will offer viewers \u201can in-depth and personally revealing encounter\u201d, which will bring them \u201cup close to one of the biggest stars in the UK today\u201d.<\/p>\n

Guests for further episodes have not yet been announced, but there will be six instalments in total with further names to be revealed in due course.<\/p>\n

Each episode will include a combination of one-on-one interviews and Theroux\u2019s more immersive trademark style, as he shadows some of the world\u2019s most well-known cultural figures.<\/p>\n

Describing the series as \u201csomething very different to the kind of TV I normally make\u201d, Theroux said he was very excited about the prospect of meeting figures he admires.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be a chance to meet and spend time with people I admire, getting to know them, having long-form and revealing conversations, with honesty, emotion, and humour,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be kicking off with the genius that is Stormzy is proper pinch-me stuff. I can\u2019t wait to get going.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cLouis is one of the most distinctive voices in broadcasting and his unique interview style, warmth, and curiosity help bring out incredible life stories from those he meets,\u201d commented Clare Sillery, the BBC\u2019s Head of Commissioning for Documentaries, History, and Religion.<\/p>\n
