RadioTimes.com<\/a> understands that nothing has yet been greenlit, and there\u2019s no confirmed idea of which time period or British monarch the proposed prequel would focus on.<\/p>\n In an article about the potential series, Deadline<\/a> referenced sources suggesting the royal biopic would cover the Victorians \u2013 although following the unprecedented success of the streamer\u2019s Regency hit\u00a0Bridgerton<\/a> (which will also have a spin-off<\/a>), we wouldn\u2019t be surprised if the tumultuous Georgian era was also being considered.<\/p> Alongside Staunton in the leading role of Queen Elizabeth II, The Affair star Dominic West is confirmed as Prince Charles<\/a>\u00a0for the upcoming fifth season of The Crown.<\/p>\n Also confirmed for season 5 is\u00a0Elizabeth Debicki as The Crown\u2019s Princess Diana<\/a>, who will later reprise the role for season 6.
