Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, he said that the cast were \u201copen to negotiations\u201d for another season of Grantchester, but couldn\u2019t confirm if discussions would succeed.<\/p>\n However, he did confirm that ITV would be hoping for Charlotte Ritchie<\/a>\u00a0(Ghosts) to reprise her new role as Bonnie, which could suggest that her will-they-won\u2019t-they relationship with Reverend Will Davenport (Tom Brittney) is destined to progress.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re open to negotiations, so they\u2019re planning season 8,\u201d Green said. \u201cWGBH and ITV would love to do another series. It\u2019s just [making sure] that everybody else is up for it too, including Charlotte, including Tom [Brittney] and everybody else.<\/p>\n \u201cSo obviously there\u2019s the appetite for another series of Grantchester. Whether it\u2019ll happen or not is another story, but it\u2019s got the green light on negotiations, so to speak. I would say it\u2019s on amber,\u201d he added.<\/p> Grantchester season 7 has proved a difficult one for DI Geordie Keating (Green), as he struggles to win back his estranged wife Cathy (Kacey Ainsworth) after she left him last season.<\/p>\n On Geordie\u2019s living situation this season, Green previously told RadioTimes.com<\/strong>: \u201cHe\u2019s now living with Will in the vicarage. No contact really with the kids, other than fleeting visits. So he\u2019s basically lost his anchor.<\/p>\n \u201cGeordie\u2019s happy place and everything that has made him stable has disappeared, so his relationship is now dancing around the abyss.
