Chibnall is to be replaced by Russell T Davies<\/a>, who returns to the show after previously stewarding it through its revival from 2005 to 2010.<\/p>\n Davies\u2019 return has, of course, got people asking who else could return to the sci-fi in future, but in an interview with this week\u2019s Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, Chibnall has made his position on a potential comeback for himself very clear.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cAbsolutely never again! Clear red line, final script. I never expected to come back after working with Steven [Moffat], really, and I\u2019d turned it down a couple of times after that.<\/p>\n \u201cI never thought I\u2019d be offered the job and built into that is why I wanted to keep it to a very specific three-series thing.<\/p>\n \u201cSupervising teenagers\u2019 revision is taking up my time now and there\u2019s lots of other things to write! I will happily sit back and watch. For all that it\u2019s been gorgeous all along, now it\u2019s like, \u2018Oh I remember this. This is what real life is like!’\u201d<\/p>\n Chibnall spoke to Radio Times magazine<\/strong> with his penultimate episode, Legend of the Sea Devils, set to air on Sunday.<\/p>\n In the interview, Chibnall also shared what former showrunner Moffat had said to him before he left: \u201cSteven told me, \u2018I miss the work, but I don\u2019t miss the workload. That\u2019s where I\u2019m heading towards.\u201d<\/p>\n Chibnall\u2019s time on the show is set to end with the Centenary Special<\/a> later this year, in which Jodie Whittaker will regenerate into the as-yet-unknown Fourteenth Doctor.<\/p>\n The\u00a0new issue of Radio Times magazine<\/a> is on sale on Tuesday (12th April).
