When Deathloop<\/a> came out in 2021, developed by Arkane Lyon and published by Bethesda Softworks, plenty of praise was piled on its two lead actors, with Jason E Kelley winning plaudits as Colt and Ozioma Akagha doing the same as Julianna. But would the pair of duelling assassins be up for a sequel?<\/p>\n

Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press at the BAFTA Games Awards 2022<\/a>, where they were both nominated in the \u2018Performer in a Leading Role\u2019 category, Deathloop stars Kelley and Akagha didn\u2019t hesitate when asked if they\u2019d return for a Deathloop 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh yes, oh yeah,\u201d said Colt actor Kelley. And Julianna actor Akagha added: \u201cThere\u2019s always more adventure, definitely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelley continued: \u201cI\u2019d love to see these characters come back. In some form, some new iteration, we\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

But how exactly would a Deathloop sequel or DLC work, considering the tough-to-escape time loop at the heart of the first game?<\/p>\n

Kelley admits, \u201cI don\u2019t know. These things I leave up to Dinga Bakaba, the director, and the developers, to come up with something really special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akagha noted at this point: \u201cI think the writers have already proven that they are capable of anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

And Kelley backed her up, saying, \u201cYeah, if the fans want it, I think they\u2019ll figure out how to make it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

One particularly tricky element about crafting a sequel would be knowing where to begin, considering that Deathloop had multiple endings. Is there a particular story strand that the actors would like to continue with?<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s actually really difficult to answer,\u201d says Kelley, \u201cbecause I haven\u2019t had the chance or the time to play the game all the way through. So I don\u2019t know what could come from whichever ending, so I can\u2019t really answer that with a clear conscience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akagha does have one idea, though, telling us: \u201cColt and Julianna teaming up would be amazing.\u201d<\/p>

Kelley agrees: \u201cThat would be a great direction, where they\u2019re stuck, maybe. Maybe not on an island this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akagha suggests that Colt and Julianna could be \u201cuncanny teammates \u2014 they hate each other but they\u2019ve got a mission to complete\u201d.<\/p>\n

Almost going into full pitching mode, Kelley gets involved, suggesting: \u201cYeah, they\u2019ve got to get into some building, or some fortress, and take down a certain number of people, and there\u2019s somebody taking us out. That could be a great idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

Akagha wraps up the conversation, declaring, \u201cMake a petition, write it down!\u201d And so the campaign starts here, folks.<\/p>\n

Certainly, it seems like there could be more to come from Deathloop. Now that Bethesda is owned by Microsoft, a Deathloop Xbox release<\/a> seems inevitable, and who knows what Arkane could cook up after at. Whatever the next project from the Deathloop team ends up being, we\u2019ll be sure to let you know when it\u2019s announced.<\/p>\n
