ITV\u2019s Britain\u2019s Got Talent<\/a> returns to our screens tonight after a short hiatus because of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden are back on the search for the UK\u2019s next big act.<\/p>\n

Since premiering back in 2007, the long-running talent show has crowned 15 winners \u2013 the latest being musical comedian Jon Courtenay<\/a> who took home \u00a3250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance in 2020.<\/p>\n

But now the BAFTA-winning show is back as hundreds of applicants bring their talents to the London Palladium in a bid to impress the celebrity judges and hopefully be the recipient of a Golden Buzzer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Musical comedian Jon Courtenay became Britain\u2019s Got Talent\u2019s 14th champion last night after winning the popular vote with his comical ode to 2020.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old, who was Ant and Dec\u2019s golden buzzer act, moved the judges to tears<\/a> during his semi-final performance with a tribute to his late father, before singing about clapping for the NHS and Sir Captain Tom Moore in the 2020 final.<\/p>\n

Since winning Britain\u2019s Got Talent in 2020, Courtenay has performed at the Royal Variety Performance, Britain\u2019s Got Talent Christmas Spectacular and on the 2021 series of Ant and Dec\u2019s Saturday Night Takeaway.<\/p>\n

Series 13 \u2013 Colin Thackery<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery won the hearts of the British public with his singing skills and bright red uniform last year and became the oldest winner in the show\u2019s history<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 90-year-old has been busy since winning BGT. After singing at the 2019 Royal Variety Performance, he released Love Changes Everything \u2013 an album which peaked at number 13 in the UK charts, and an autobiography.<\/p>\n

He also returned to the 2020 live shows to give a heart-warming performance of Jackie DeShannon\u2019s What The World Needs Now Is Love, filmed remotely in Sussex.<\/p>\n

Series 12 \u2013 Lost Voice Guy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Stand-up Lost Voice Guy (real name\u00a0Lee Ridley) \u2013 who performs with a speech synthesiser after being diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was six months old \u2013 won his BGT year in spectacular style. He picked up 21 per cent of the final vote<\/a> \u2013 a huge amount considering he was up against nine other acts.<\/p>\n

He still performs after winning, and took a starring role in the second series of Radio 4 sitcom Ability, which he co-wrote. It follows Matt \u2013 a 25-year-old who, like Ridley, can only speak using an app on his tablet \u2013 moving into a flat-share with best mate Jess and meeting carer\/weed dealer\/knock-off TV salesman Bob.<\/p>\n

Like Susan Boyle and Paul Potts, Lost Voice Guy competed in America\u2019s Got Talent: The Champions, an all-star spin-off that sees 50 winners and finalists from the various other Got Talent franchises compete to be crowned global champion.<\/p>\n

However, Lost Voice Guy was eliminated in first round.<\/p>\n
