why \u2013\u00a0despite dying multiple times in different alternate timelines \u2013 there is still reason for her to live the same life over and over again.<\/p>\n<p>The series follows Ursula, a young woman who can die and be reborn an infinite number of times, while each time gaining a\u00a0powerful sense of d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu that helps her avoid the same fatal mistakes as previous versions of herself.<\/p>\n<p>We see this in action in episode 4, as Ursula is inexplicably drawn to visit pre-war Germany \u2013 and kill Adolf Hitler \u2013\u00a0after other versions of herself were killed during the Second World War across various timelines, both in England and in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In one version, Ursula falls in love with and marries a German lawyer, who later joins the Nazi party. By the end of the war, she and her young daughter are starving to death, and she makes the heartbreaking choice for them to both die by suicide.<\/p>\n<p>In a later life, Ursula appears to remember what she must do to prevent the war and the death of her brother Teddy, a pilot. She travels to a German cafe \u2013 bumping into the man who was her husband in another life \u2013 and points a pistol at Hitler\u2019s head.<\/p>\n<p>The screen cuts to black before she pulls the trigger, but we hear multiple gun shots and screams, before the snowfall motif which signifies Ursula\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>In the book the series is based on, it\u2019s left unclear whether Ursula succeeded in killing Hitler, and it\u2019s the same in the series \u2013 did Ursula manage to shoot him before bystanders pulled their own guns on her?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How did Ursula Todd\u2019s and she\u2019s at home with her parents, Aunt Izzie and sister Pamela, where they discuss Ursula\u2019s final conversation with Teddy before he died.<\/p>\n<p>Ursula reveals that she and Teddy debated the possibility of living their lives over and over again, fixing their past mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>Each family member discusses whether they would opt for such a scenario before it comes to Ursula\u2019s turn \u2013 and she simply says that she told Teddy that she thought it was a \u201cwonderful\u201d idea, not quite answering the question.<\/p>\n<p>Ursula\u2019s father Hugh walks her home to the train station and begs her to stay in the countryside rather than return to London.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would rather you were a coward than dead, Little Bear,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>She catches the London train anyway, and as it pulls away, she turns to look ahead, grinning. Is she\u00a0excited about what life has in store? Or was it the embrace from her father, who has been there for her during every lifetime?<\/p>\n<p>Just like the reason behind Ursula\u2019s Groundhog Day-style existence, we never learn the answer.
