Ben Fogle is about to explore California\u2019s Slab City in his brand new documentary Ben Fogle & The Lost City.<\/p>\n

Located in the Sonoran Desert, Slab City is known as \u201cthe last free place in America\u201d by the community who live there and practise an alternative off-grid lifestyle, where money, rules and technology are not a major factor.<\/p>\n

For many, Slab City is the last resort before being made completely homeless, with people able to set up camp, and make the most of the environment.<\/p>\n

However, Ben says that \u2013 like \u201cany utopia\u201d \u2013 Slab City has \u201cattracted the wrong people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked how the community survives without written rules, Ben exclusively told RadioTimes.com<\/a>\u00a0that rules do exist, and some of them can be very \u201cbrutal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll see they do have rules and they\u2019re very brutal,\u201d he explained. \u201cThey burn people out and they urinate on people, so they do have rules and they kind of implement those rules themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re very strict on what things are [punished] \u2013 paedophilia, rape, wife beating \u2013 and the things they say they don\u2019t tolerate. But other people say all of those things do go on there.\u201d<\/p>\n
