<\/p>
Apple TV+ has commissioned an upcoming non-fiction film about Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox from Oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim.<\/p>\n
The feature film, which is currently in production in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver, will explore Fox\u2019s life and career, from his beginnings as \u201can undersized kid from a Canadian army base\u201d to the \u201cheights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood\u201d.<\/p>\n
Currently untitled, the film is set to incorporate elements of documentary-making as well as archival and scripted moments to tell Fox\u2019s story in his own words.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe account of Fox\u2019s public life, full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss, will unspool alongside his never-before-seen private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis, aged 29, with Parkinson\u2019s disease,\u201d Apple TV+<\/a> says.<\/p> The documentary will be produced with unprecedented access to Fox and his family, Apple TV+ says, as it chronicles Fox\u2019s personal and professional triumphs and travails.<\/p>\n This upcoming project is the latest from Guggenheim, whose most successful projects have so far been documentaries like An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for \u201cSuperman\u201d and He Named Me Malala.<\/p>\n Fox is best known for starring as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy and for his roles in Teen Wolf, Spin City, The Good Wife and the Stuart Little films.<\/p>\n Check out more of our\u00a0Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Factual<\/a>\u00a0coverage or visit our\u00a0TV Guide<\/a>\u00a0to see what\u2019s on tonight.<\/strong><\/p>\n The latest issue of Radio Times is on sale now \u2013\u00a0subscribe now<\/a>\u00a0to get each issue delivered to your door.
