Doctor Who<\/a> showrunner Chris Chibnall refuses to shed light on where Jo Martin\u2019s Fugitive Doctor fits into the show\u2019s timeline \u2013 teasing that it\u2019s a \u201cdeliberate\u201d choice.<\/p>\n \u201cThat story is setting up the questions about what happened in the gaps,\u201d he explained in a recent interview with Doctor Who Magazine.<\/p>\n \u201cThere could be any number of points in the timeline where the Fugitive Doctor could belong, but we deliberately haven\u2019t said, \u2018She sits here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Doctor Who: Flux<\/a>\u2018s recent episode Once, Upon Time saw the surprise return of the Fugitive Doctor, after she made a lasting first impression on fans during the previous season.<\/p>\n Chibnall teased that he already has \u201can opinion\u201d on where Martin\u2019s Doctor sits in the overall timeline, teasing that it may tie into The Thirteenth Doctor\u2019s storyline.<\/p> \u201cI do have an opinion, but I\u2019m not going to share it with you. As I said before, this is about expanding the mythology without breaking the mythology.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the 1970s, when people said there were four Doctors, that bit in The Brain of Morbius basically said, \u2018No there aren\u2019t!\u2019 And now, when people say there have been 13, we can do the same thing.
