And although the biggest Star Wars release of May 2022 won\u2019t be happening until later in the month (when Obi-Wan Kenobi<\/a> debuts on Disney Plus), there\u2019s still lots to enjoy for fans on Star Wars Day 2022.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re keen to celebrate, then we\u2019ve got all the information you need right here. From activities and events to enticing special offers, this is your essential primer for the big day.<\/p> Star Wars Day takes place on\u00a0Wednesday 4th May <\/strong>2022 <\/strong>and will be marked by new content, merchandise sales and fan celebrations around the globe.<\/p>\n Star Wars Day does not quite qualify as a celebration of the anniversary of the franchise, as 1977\u2019s A New Hope first hit cinemas in the United States on the 25th May.<\/p>\n This particular date has been referred to as Star Wars Day since 2011, after widespread fan use of the phrase: \u201cMay the fourth be with you.\u201d<\/p>\n Of course, the joke riffs on the iconic Star Wars catchphrase \u201cMay the force be with you\u201d, which characters often say to each other to wish good luck on dangerous missions.<\/p>\n Some fans choose to take the concept further and take part in additional celebrations on the 5th or 6th May, which they dub \u201cRevenge of the fifth\/sixth\u201d.<\/p>\n This is a reference to 2005\u2019s Revenge of the Sith, which remains one of the darkest entries in the franchise and particular attention is paid to Star Wars villains on this day to reflect that.<\/p>\n There\u2019s always plenty to get excited about on Star Wars Day and this year is no exception, with the launch of a brand new series and a fan art celebration among the events taking place.<\/p>\n Disney Plus is marking the occasion with the release of a new documentary \u2013 giving fans an in-depth look behind the scenes of the most recent live-action Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett<\/a>.<\/p>\n Similar to Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, which was released on the streamer last summer, the documentary includes insight from filmmakers, cast and crew, features never-before-seen footage, and offers fans a look at the groundbreaking technology and practical effects that brought the series to life.<\/p>\n You can sign up to Disney Plus for \u00a379.90 a year or \u00a37.99 a month<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n If Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi has always been your favourite Star Wars character, then May is a very exciting month indeed.<\/p>\n Not only is a brand new series coming to Disney Plus later in the month \u2013 with Ewen McGregor reprising his role from the prequel films \u2013 but the first issue of a new comic miniseries focusing on the character is being released just in time for Star Wars Day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Star Wars Day often sees sales on Star Wars products, so if you fancy treating yourself to a comic book, video game or other memorabilia, keep an eye out for the best deals.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re a gamer, you can get up to 80 per cent off games including Star Wars Battlefront II Celebration Edition, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star the true Star Wars experience, some fans have taken to cooking up treats inspired by a galaxy far, far away.<\/p>\n If you felt jealous of Grogu as he enjoyed those appetising blue macarons in The Mandalorian season two, the official Star Wars website has a recipe<\/a> that will help you make your very own.<\/p>\n If that doesn\u2019t take your fancy, the site also has tips on making Yoda pancakes<\/a>, a Princess Leia-inspired rice bowl<\/a> and even Luke Skywalker\u2019s favourite drink: blue milk<\/a>!<\/p>\n Disney Plus has become the premier location for all things Star Wars, as
