During his time on the soap, Imran has become an upstanding member of the community but recently resorted to ruthless tactics in his custody battle for his son Alfie, presenting false evidence that Alfie\u2019s mother Abi was taking drugs again<\/a>.<\/p>\n When speaking with RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press on the red carpet for this year\u2019s BAFTA TV Awards<\/a>, De Melo teased: \u201cWhatever the opposite of a redemption arc is, that\u2019s something that my guy\u2019s going through now.<\/p>\n \u201cImran\u2019s going from the sort of holier-than-thou white knight who\u2019s always a defender of the weak, and you see the cracks in the armour start to form and you see a slightly less palatable version of him.\u201d<\/p> He added: \u201cIt\u2019s in the next few weeks, that months\u2019 worth of build-up\u2026 things that were seeded last September are blooming now. That\u2019s all coming to a head in the next few weeks, and so that\u2019s what I\u2019m excited about.\u201d<\/p>\n De Melo was revealed to be leaving the soap<\/a> earlier this year, with a source telling\u00a0The Sun<\/a>: \u201cCharlie\u2019s loved his time on the soap but the time is right to try new things.\u201d<\/p>\n They added: \u201cHe\u2019s hugely talented and very ambitious and wants to see what else is out there.
