The 2022 Eurovision<\/a> Song Contest is upon us, and Ukraine are still scheduled to take part in this year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n

Alina Pash was initially selected to represent the country with the song Tini zabutykh predkiv<\/span> (Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors) after being chosen by the Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne via the national selection\u00a0Vidbir<\/span>.<\/p>\n

However, Pash\u2019s status as a legitimate participant of\u00a0Vidbir<\/span>\u00a0was challenged, which resulted in her participation being ceased by the broadcaster as well as her withdrawal.<\/p>\n

Kalush Orchestra, who were the runner-up at Vidbir, will now represent Ukraine with the song\u00a0Stefania.<\/p>\n

Kalush is a Ukrainian rap group. Formed in 2019, the group is made up of founder and rapper Oleh Psiuk, multi-instrumentalist Ihor Didenchuk, and dancer Vlad Kurochka (alias MC KylymMen, lit.<\/abbr>\u2009\u2019CarpetMan\u2019). \u00a0Didenchuk is also a member of the\u00a0electro-folk\u00a0band\u00a0Go_A.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the group formed their new project, Kalush Orchestra, with Tymofii Muzychuk, Vitalii Duzhyk, and Dzhonni Dyvnyy joining as additional members. Unlike the main band, Kalush Orchestra focuses on hip hop\u00a0with folk motifs and elements from\u00a0Ukrainian traditional music.<\/p>\n

What is Ukraine\u2019s Eurovision 2022 song called?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Kalush Orchestra will be performing their song Stefania. It is the third song sung entirely in\u00a0Ukrainian\u00a0to represent the country at Eurovision but the second to actually compete at the contest.<\/p>\n

The song is an ode to the mother, with the narrator in the song speaking of good memories from their mum. After talking about how much she\u2019s aged, the narrator of the song comes to realise how much their mum\u2019s done for them.<\/p>\n
