McTighe was one of several writers to join the show during Chris Chibnall\u2019s tenure as showrunner, writing the Thirteenth Doctor adventures Kerblam!<\/a> and Praxeus<\/a>.<\/p>\n Recently, he revealed that another of his episodes was included in the original plan for season 13<\/a>, but was dropped when Chibnall decided to adopt a shorter, serial structure in light of the pandemic \u2013 what eventually became known as Flux<\/a>.<\/p>\n In an interview with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, McTighe stayed tight-lipped about what exactly the episode involved, but added that it\u2019s one of many that are currently floating around his head.<\/p> \u201cI have dozens \u2013 scores \u2013 of ideas for Doctor Who<\/a> episodes,\u201d he said. \u201cThat show is such an important part of my life. It\u2019s the reason I\u2019m a writer. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAside from the main show, the collection trailers that I write and direct are kind of my favourite thing, they\u2019re just such good fun to do. But in terms of that episode, I\u2019m not going to tell you about it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added: \u201cI\u2019m really sorry because I do want to keep it up my sleeve along with all the other ideas I have. Should I be lucky enough to work on the show in future, I\u2019ll be pitching that and many other things.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Russell T Davies is yet to announce which writers \u2013 if any \u2013 he is working with on the upcoming 14th season of modern Doctor Who, but McTighe is plenty busy in the meantime.<\/p>\n The Rising has just launched on Sky Max and NOW, which is a series he hopes will return for a second season, while The Pact is also on its way back to BBC One, with new episodes currently filming.<\/p>\n The Rising airs Fridays at 9pm on Sky Max \u2013\u00a0sign up for Sky TV here<\/a>.
