<\/p>
The new series of Beat the Chasers<\/a> kicks off on Monday, with the Chasers teaming up to take on another line-up of brave contestants. However, longtime star Mark Labbett has revealed that he prefers to original show to the spin-off.<\/p>\n When asked which of the ITV gameshows he preferred being on, Mark \u2018The Beast\u2019 Labbett told RadioTimes.com<\/a> in an exclusive interview: \u201cI definitely prefer the regular Chase myself.<\/p>\n \u201cBeat the Chasers, perhaps it\u2019s the control freak in me, but there\u2019s very little we can do about it because the producers get to pick who the Chasers are, what times are being offered, what amounts of money.<\/p>\n \u201cSometimes you\u2019re just going, \u2018Oh, thanks mate.\u2019 It\u2019s a handicap game and I get that but suddenly that\u2019s a pretty big handicap we\u2019ve got to try and chase down,\u201d he added. \u201cThe regular Chase, you pretty much know where you are with it.\u201d<\/p> Labbett was one of the original Chasers on ITV\u2019s The Chase, joining the show in 2009 alongside Shaun \u2018The Dark Destroyer\u2019 Wallace.<\/p>\n He also appears on a number of The Chase\u2019s international shows, including The Chase Australia, and is part of the Chaser panel on Beat the Chasers, which begins its fifth season on Monday.<\/p>\n Fellow star Darragh Ennis recently teased that the upcoming episodes will see some \u201cbig wins\u201d<\/a>, while Issa Schultz, a Chaser from the show\u2019s Australian version, is replacing Anne Hegerty<\/a> on the panel after the quizzer tested positive for COVID-19<\/a> a day before filming.<\/p>\n Beat the Chasers airs on ITV on Monday 16th May at 9pm.
