There was more trouble for Tom Faulkner in tonight\u2019s (30th May) episode of Silent Witness<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sam was having dinner with her family when she received a message from him, before slipping away to hear what he had to say.<\/p>\n

Tom had acted as Sam\u2019s security detail in Stockholm back in 2018 when they were both working for the UN. A politician had been murdered, with Sam drafted in to carry out the post-mortem.<\/p>\n

The culprits responsible for his death had also attempted to murder Sam\u2019s husband Jomo, but health secretary Alice Reynolds wound up dead instead. They also killed journalist Dan Clemence and Jomo\u2019s PA Rosa Hernandez.<\/p>\n

Tom is also Nikki\u2019s ex-husband. The pair had been expecting a child together in their early 20s, but she suffered a stillbirth, which caused the breakdown of their relationship.<\/p>\n

Tom confronted Sam about the vial of blood she had swiped from Nikki. The pathologist had collected several samples from the assassins\u2019 hotel room which indicated that they were involved in a DNA fabrication scheme.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is this?\u201d he asked. \u201cWhere did you get it? Please tell me you\u2019re not involved in this?\u201d<\/p>\n
Once again, Sam stuck to the party line: \u201cI\u2019m trying to help you. I\u2019m on your side. Trust me.\u201d<\/p>
Tom then informed Sam that Sonia Karpov, the sister of dead Russian colonel Andrei Karpov who had taken his own life, had been found dead in prison.<\/p>\n
Sonia blamed Tom for his death and set out to avenge her sibling by pinning all of the murders on him.<\/p>\n

According to the evidence, she had also died by suicide, but Tom believed otherwise.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese people won\u2019t think twice about making it look like we\u2019ve done the same,\u201d he said to Sam.<\/p>\n
