{"id":16463,"date":"2022-06-06T08:05:11","date_gmt":"2022-06-06T06:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/?p=1655960"},"modified":"2022-06-06T08:42:08","modified_gmt":"2022-06-06T06:42:08","slug":"jurassic-world-dominion-is-different-to-predecessors-in-a-crucial-way","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/radiotimes\/rss_feed\/jurassic-world-dominion-is-different-to-predecessors-in-a-crucial-way\/","title":{"rendered":"Jurassic World: Dominion is different to predecessors in a crucial way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By David Craig\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Monday, 06 June 2022 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>Jurassic World: Dominion has one crucial difference that separates it from all the other films in the franchise, which director Colin Trevorrow hopes will help pave the way for bold new stories.<\/p>\n<p>Picking up after the events of 2018\u2019s <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-review-a-stepping-stone-towards-a-bigger-better-and-more-interesting-story\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Fallen Kingdom<\/a>, this sequel depicts a world in which humanity is living alongside dinosaurs for the first time ever, with the prehistoric creatures having spread far and wide across the globe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/movies\/jurassic-world-dominion-release-date-cast\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Jurassic World: Dominion<\/a> is a huge departure from the earlier entries \u2013 where the cloned animals were limited to a single island \u2013 which will inevitably hold major ramifications for the future of the series.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s different from all the other Jurassic movies, because there\u2019s no Park, there\u2019s no Island,\u201d said star Jeff Goldblum in an interview with <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">RadioTimes.com<\/a>. \u201cThe dinosaurs are all over the darn world and so if the scope of the movie is like a James Bond, it\u2019s like a Bourne movie \u2013 and beautifully done.\u201d<\/p> <p>Director Colin Trevorrow elaborated on how this development in the story drastically expands what kinds of stories are possible to tell within this franchise and thus helps to secure its future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt felt like the natural trajectory of this was to fundamentally change what the franchise is, in certain ways, because every movie has just been on an island that may or may not be safe when people go to it,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we\u2019ve just gotten into this pattern of assuming that that\u2019s what a Jurassic movie is, but to me, it felt like \u2013 especially if there are future stories to be told \u2013 [it was important] to give a little bit more room for people to be creative and to create a really natural, believable dynamic between dinosaurs and humans on the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n<iframe title=\"&quot;Jurassic\" world=\"\" dominion=\"\" official=\"\" trailer=\"\" width=\"&quot;200&quot;\" height=\"&quot;113&quot;\" src=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fb5ELWi-ekk?feature=oembed&quot;\" frameborder=\"&quot;0&quot;\" allow=\"&quot;accelerometer;\" autoplay=\"\" clipboard-write=\"\" encrypted-media=\"\" gyroscope=\"\" picture-in-picture=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"\"\/>\n<p>Trevorrow added that he was \u201ceager\u201d not to have to come up with more warped logic that would send humans to an island infested with carnivorous dinosaurs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause it\u2019s a really good question. Why?
