Keeley Hawes, who stars as Dr Susannah Zellaby in the drama, has spoken about a possible season 2, telling RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press that a follow-up could see the Midwich Cuckoos<\/a> come \u201cto a town near you\u201d.<\/p>\n When asked about the future of the show, Hawes said: \u201cI\u2019d certainly like to see more of the Cuckoos and their adventures. There\u2019s lots you could do. You could do lots of fun with them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Synn\u00f8ve Karlsen, who plays Cassie Stone in The Midwich Cuckoos, added: \u201cThere\u2019s plenty of scope for the story continuing. Yeah, it\u2019s just\u2026 we\u2019ll have to see what happens. We can\u2019t give away spoilers.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cCuckoos have a sort of strange feature of popping up in the strangest places, don\u2019t they? Midwich, for example. They could be coming to a town near you, soon. <\/span>I just made that one up as I went along. I don\u2019t know anything about anything!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While Hawes and Karlsen have said they would like to return for a second season, creator David Farr told RadioTimes.com<\/strong> in an exclusive interview that the show was \u201cnever intended\u201d to be easily repeated for season 2.<\/p>\n \u201cIt completely finishes, and that\u2019s really important to all of us. We wanted to do a complete story. That\u2019s its thing,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBecause it\u2019s a conceptual idea, if Sky get very enthusiastic, then there is the possibility of it expanding and becoming something slightly different, I would say. But it\u2019s not a kind of classic repeatable. It\u2019s definitely not that. It was never intended to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p> However, director Alice Troughton added: \u201cThe idea of the Cuckoos is a universal idea. You could do <\/span>The Midwich Cuckoos \u2013<\/span>\u00a0we don\u2019t know whether they landed in India or the Himalayas. We don\u2019t know where they landed. We just choose to show Amersham, because that\u2019s where we\u2019re focused on.
