After multiple previous confirmations<\/a> from the cast and creatives, Netflix<\/a> has officially announced that Squid Game<\/a> will return for season 2, with a major new character joining the fray.<\/p>\n In a message on Netflix\u2019s Twitter account, the show\u2019s director, writer and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk said that as well as returns for Gi-hun and the Front Man, season 2 will also feature Young-hee\u2019s boyfriend, called Cheol-su.<\/p>\n In the first season of the Netflix phenomenon, Young-hee was the giant robot doll with sensors that detected movement in the Red Light, Green Light game.<\/p>\n The character was based on drawings of a young girl found in Korean textbooks, who was often seen alongside a boy, known as Cheol-su.<\/p>\n Hwang Dong-Hyuk writer, director, producer, and creator of @squidgame<\/a> has a message\u00a0for the fans: pic.twitter.com\/DxF0AS5tMM<\/a><\/p>\u2014 Netflix (@netflix) June 12, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote>
