Marlon isn’t out of the woods just yet. <\/p>

Life has been tough for Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) on Emmerdale<\/a> recently, after the fan-favourite character suffered a stroke.<\/p>\n

In scenes true to life, Marlon\u2019s recovery won\u2019t be quick \u2013 in fact, he will be facing the same storyline for the coming months.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> at the British Soap Awards 2022<\/a>, Charnock discussed the devastating plot, and what we can expect in the future for Marlon.<\/p>\n

When asked if Marlon would have a long road to recovery, Charnock agreed, adding: \u201cAs it should be really. We\u2019re really lucky to work in a genre where we can tell a story day by day \u2013 you almost feel like you see it in real time.\u201d<\/p>

Charnock, who collected the award for Dramatic Performance at the ceremony, was honoured to have been a part of the storyline.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been an amazing journey. The best thing about the journey has been raising awareness. The response, with people sharing stories on social media, has been overwhelming,\u201d Charnock explained.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe\u2019ve done tonnes of research. I personally was quite nervous about getting it right \u2013 it felt like a big responsibility to survivors and family members. I\u2019ve been nervous but it\u2019s been really rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n
