Star of Stranger Things<\/a>, David Harbour, has revealed he shot multiple different versions of Jim Hopper\u2019s reunion with Joyce Byers, after she rescues him from prison in season 4 episode 7.<\/p>\n

Speaking to IndieWire<\/a>, the actor said he felt under pressure to perfect this long-awaited, \u201camazing moment\u201d, adding that the team shot various different takes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing moment. And the problem with amazing moments are that you read them in the script and you\u2019re just like \u2018f***\u2019,\u201d Harbour said.<\/p>

\u201cYou just feel the pressure. Here it is: He\u2019s been away, he feels like he\u2019s killed her. He\u2019s in such despair, and then lo and behold, his miracle, his knight in shining armour who saves\u00a0him<\/em>\u00a0is this woman that he cares so much for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harbour revealed that the crew shot 10 different takes of the reunion at the Kamchatka prison, before finally settling on the version that made the cut.<\/p>\n

\u201cInitially there were some that we did where she\u2019d run over to me and I just embraced her [right there and then],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did about 10 takes of it, and then I was like, \u2018You know what I think it is, man? I just think he\u2019s so in survival mode, I don\u2019t even think he thinks she\u2019s real.\u2019 So when she comes over to him there\u2019s this moment where he kind of stares, pulls her away from him and looks at her, and then embraces her again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI was really appreciative of the Duffers allowing me to find the reality of this moment,\u201d Harbour added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a lot of takes that were big and emotional and all that stuff and then I was like, \u2018No, it\u2019s got to be simple, it\u2019s gotta be weirder than that.\u2019 And I was very happy we all came to that and that they let us use that take because I think it is the most sophisticated.\u201d<\/p>\n
