It\u2019s been almost a year now since we saw Daniel Craig bow out from his role as James Bond in 2021\u2019s No Time to Die<\/a>, and while speculation remains feverish around who will replace the actor in the role, it seems the team behind Bond may be as in the dark about the casting as the fans are.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Deadline<\/a>, the franchise\u2019s producer Barbara Broccoli stated that \u201cNobody\u2019s in the running\u201d for the role, as they are still \u201cworking out where to go with him, we\u2019re talking that through.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the same interview<\/a>, Broccoli said: \u201cThere isn\u2019t a script and we can\u2019t come up with one until we decide how we\u2019re going to approach the next film because, really, it\u2019s a reinvention of Bond. We\u2019re reinventing who he is and that takes time. I\u2019d say that filming is at least two years away.\u201d<\/p>\n

The news will surely come as a blow to Bond fans who have for a long time been pitching potential replacements online, from Idris Elba to Henry Cavill.<\/p>\n
