Elle Fanning leads the cast of Hulu true crime drama series The Girl from Plainville, about the \u2018texting-suicide\u2019 case that gripped the US back in 2017.<\/p>\n

The Hulu synopsis reads: \u201cThe Girl from Plainville is inspired by the true story of Michelle Carter\u2019s unprecedented \u2018texting-suicide\u2019\u202fcase.<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on the Esquire article of the same name<\/a> by Jesse Barron, the limited series explores Carter\u2019s relationship with Conrad Roy III and the events that led to his death and, later, her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fanning plays the role of Michelle Carter, while the cast also includes Chlo\u00eb Sevigny and Stranger Things<\/a> star Cara Buono.<\/p>\n

The Girl from Plainville first began airing in the US on Hulu on 29th March 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, the eight-part series doesn\u2019t yet have a confirmed UK distributor \u2013 although it seems likely that streamer Disney Plus will release the series for UK viewers. We\u2019ll keep this page updated with any news.<\/p>

The Girl from Plainville cast<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Elle Fanning plays the title role of Michelle Carter, the real Massachusetts teen who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2017, following the death by suicide of her boyfriend, Conrad Roy III.<\/p>\n

Other cast members include Chlo\u00eb Sevigny (American Horror Story) as Lynn Roy<\/span>, Colton Ryan (Dear Evan Hansen) as Conrad \u2018Coco\u2019 Roy III<\/span>, and Cara Buono (Stranger Things) as Gail Carter.<\/span><\/p>\n
