<\/p>
The creator of US series Queer as Folk<\/a> has teased there are \u201ca lot more stories\u201d to explore in a second season.<\/p>\n Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, creator Stephen Dunn said he hoped to expand the series, with more focus on the supporting characters.<\/p>\n \u201cWe did end the [first] season on a pretty major cliffhanger \u2013 and there are so many characters in our show. We have our leads and then we have an incredible supporting cast,\u201d Dunn said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are more stories I want to tell for these supporting characters, yeah. There\u2019s a lot more stories we want to tell, from this family.\u201d<\/p>\n Inspired by the original British iteration created by Russell T Davies, Queer as Folk premiered last month on US screens, and arrived in the UK on 1st July on Starzplay<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dunn also told RadioTimes.com<\/strong> that Russell T Davies enabled the show\u2019s \u201cfresh\u201d new series<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cRussell was pretty involved early on,\u201d he explained. \u201cI went and pitched the show to him directly\u2026I got his blessing initially, but then as we sold the show and set it up at Peacock in the US, I would send him the scripts and he would give feedback and notes.\u201d<\/p>\n Dunn added that Davies offered him support as he was developing the series: \u201cHe was so encouraging; he pushed me to make big character decisions over the course of these episodes.\u201d<\/p> Dunn continued: \u201cI remember when I sent him the pilot, and he was just so floored by it, and just was like \u2018this is so new, it\u2019s so 2022, it\u2019s yours now, take it!\u2019 I believe he said \u2018stomp on me, and run with it\u2019 which of course I\u2019m not gonna do!\u201d<\/p>\n Additional reporting by Lewis Knight.<\/em><\/p>\n Queer as Folk is available to stream in the UK now on\u00a0Starzplay<\/a>\u00a0through\u00a0Amazon Prime Video<\/a>, with two new episodes dropping weekly.
