The X Factor is rumoured to have a sensational return, but not to ITV, to Channel 5.<\/p>\n
According to The Daily Star<\/a>, Simon Cowell has struck up a deal with the broadcaster to bring back the popular talent show.<\/p>\n It was rumoured earlier in the year that The X Factor would be returning in 2023 after a five-year rest.<\/p>\n A source told the newspaper: \u201cAs soon as X Factor was up for grabs, there was interest from a number of the networks.<\/p> \u201cX Factor is one of the most iconic shows in TV history, so it\u2019s no surprise lots of channels were keen. The production company had their pick.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter a lot of meetings, execs decided to go with Channel 5.\u201d<\/p>\n They added that this would mark a \u201cnew chapter\u201d for the series as it would be the first time it hasn\u2019t aired on ITV.<\/p>\n Channel 5 meanwhile are said to be \u201cthrilled\u201d to have bagged the talent contest, according to the newspaper.<\/p>\n RadioTimes.com contacted representative of Channel 5 and Simon Cowell for comment.<\/p>\n The last series of The X Factor aired on ITV in 2018 and saw Dalton Harris win.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n If you\u2019re looking for more to watch, check out our\u00a0TV Guide<\/a>.
