Adam\u2019s arrival<\/a> was teased at the end of last night\u2019s show (Sunday 10th July), with narrator Iain Stirling revealing: \u201cTomorrow night\u2026 guess who\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n And Zara \u2013\u00a0whose reaction was filmed by her current partner, Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson \u2013\u00a0was left speechless.<\/p>\n \u201cWho\u2019s this guy? Who\u2019s this absolute animal?\u201d Sam can be heard saying in one of their joint Love Island commentary videos on Instagram<\/a> as the show\u2019s sneak peek teased a mysterious new man.<\/p>\n As the camera moved from Adam\u2019s torso to his face, Sam panned to Zara and said: \u201cIt\u2019s your ex boyfriend, no way!\u201d, to which Zara screamed at the TV.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever seen her face light up like that for me,\u201d Sam penned on top of the video, as well as captioning\u00a0the post: \u201cCan\u2019t tell whether I\u2019m excited or terrified.\u201d<\/p>\n Zara and Adam met during the first season of ITV2\u2019s dating contest and continued to date for eight months after the show came to an end before going their separate ways.<\/p>\n ITV has been met with backlash over the surprise return of Adam, however.<\/p>\n Adam caused considerable controversy<\/a>\u00a0during his stint on the show after\u00a0<\/span>coupling up with four different women in two weeks.<\/p>\n Prior to Zara, Adam had been coupled up with Rosie Williams, but swiftly ditched her when Zara arrived in the villa.<\/p>\n After Rosie tried to call him out for giving her the cold shoulder, Adam suggested his supposed behaviour was all in her head, leading to backlash from viewers and from the\u00a0charity Women\u2019s Aid, which issued a warning about how to spot \u201cgaslighting and emotional abuse\u201d.<\/p>\n New episodes of Love Island air at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub every day except Saturdays.
