That\u2019s a possibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, McDermid explains how TV adaptations have in the past influenced her own writing, adding: \u201cWe made six series and a special of Wire in the Blood and I loved the blue plastic bag they gave to Robson Green\u2019s Tony Hill, so I gave Tony a blue plastic bag in later books.\u201d<\/p> <h2><strong>Also in this week\u2019s Radio Times:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul><li>Alison Steadman talks about whether <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/comedy\/james-corden-gavin-stacey-future-newsupdate\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Gavin &amp; Stacey<\/a> will return, as well as the increasing number of roles for older actresses. She says: \u201cOnce upon a time, people would say, \u2018Ooh, once you hit 40, they don\u2019t want to know. You\u2019re not sexy or fanciable, people don\u2019t want to look at you, so you get pushed out.\u2019 That\u2019s horrible, so I\u2019m glad we no longer think that way.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Rafe Spall discusses taking a break from acting and the influence of his father Timothy, stating: \u201cMy drama school was sitting there with my dad shouting at the TV, telling me what was good and what was bad. He was the absolute architect of my taste.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Channel 5 director of programmes Ben Frow speaks about the TV industry, saying it is \u201cwithout question\u201d inherently snobbish. He explains: \u201cThat\u2019s why I can\u2019t bear much of that side of the industry. I think it\u2019s very privileged\u2026 So the best way of giving us a bloody nose, because they can\u2019t do it through ratings, is to prevent any of our very successful shows winning awards.\u201d Frow also talks about whether <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/soaps\/home-and-away\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Home and Away<\/a> could be axed like <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/soaps\/neighbours\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Neighbours<\/a> and about the
