Aside from Theo James<\/a>, who starred as Sidney Parker, all of the cast<\/a> will be back on our screens, including Kris Marshall, who plays Sidney\u2019s older brother Tom.<\/p>\n In season 1, Tom\u2019s crusade to transform Sanditon into a popular destination that would rival Brighton and other hotspots was brought to a crashing halt following the outbreak of a fire that devastated much of the seaside town. But in season 2, he\u2019s more determined than ever to plough on with his campaign \u2013 which means there\u2019s much less time for any shenanigans he might have previously engaged in.<\/p> Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press, Marshall said that while some of the characters continue to partake in plenty of nude dalliances, Tom isn\u2019t as involved this time around.<\/p>\n \u201cHaving spent a lot of my career playing the kid or the idiot or the younger, less responsible member of the cast, it\u2019s weird to then suddenly find yourself a more senior member of the cast,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I think of the main characters in season 2, of the ones that gets their kits off, I\u2019m definitely the most senior.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I\u2019m not quite so on it now; the nudity is not as prevalent, not as prevalent with me. It is still there, but it\u2019s not [as much].\u201d<\/p>\n Hear that? It\u2019s the sound of a million hearts breaking\u2026<\/p>\n Marshall went on to discuss where Tom is emotionally this season following the events of Sanditon\u2019s debut season.<\/p>\n \u201cTom has been saved [due to Sidney\u2019s generous loan],\u201d he said. \u201cI guess a lot of people would have hoped there\u2019d be some kind of retribution, but he\u2019s been saved from his own folly.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we join season 2, the building works have almost been completed. In fact, they\u2019re even grander. But has he learned any lessons? He\u2019s a lot more careful and a lot more guarded to begin with, but I think he\u2019s very aware of the debt he owes both to his brother and his brother\u2019s wife. It\u2019s a huge amount of money, an eye-watering amount of money, so he is chastened.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s had his wings clipped, but for how long?\u201d<\/p>\n Sanditon is available to stream now on BritBox.
