An insightful House of the Dragon article from The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> states that three or four animated spin-offs are in the works, alongside four live-action shows which are in development.<\/p>\n When asked by The Hollywood Reporter about the new venture for the world of Thrones, the book series\u2019 author George RR Martin said: \u201cThe animated shows are coming along great. The concept art is absolutely stunning.\u201d<\/p>\n He also reportedly compared the various animated styles used for the show\u2019s to Netflix<\/a>\u2018s Love Death and Robots<\/a>, which uses a different form of animation for each new episode.<\/p>\n This news regarding the animated spin-offs comes as we recently had word that a live action Jon Snow sequel series<\/a> is in development, which has reportedly been \u201ccreated\u201d<\/a> by Kit Harrington, according to Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke.<\/p>\n Martin also recently spoke about his own involvement with that series<\/a>, as well as being \u201capprehensive\u201d<\/a> about House of the Dragon, although he said he feels \u201cin good hands\u201d with that show\u2019s showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.<\/p> Other live-action spin-offs reported to currently be in development include a Dunk and Egg series and a show detailing The Sea Snake\u2019s nine voyages.<\/p>\n Another, Bloodmoon<\/a>, was also in development, but was scrapped after a $30-35 million pilot was filmed with stars including Naomi Watts (The Loudest Voice), Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things<\/a>), Toby Regbo (The Last Kingdom<\/a>) and Naomi Ackie (The Rise of Skywalker).<\/p>\n House of the Dragon will launch on Monday 22nd August on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW.
