With Love Island<\/a>\u2018s 2022 final currently airing on ITV2, fans have been waiting all day to find out which couple will be declared the winners<\/a> and more importantly, whether one of them will split the prize money or steal it for themselves as per final tradition.<\/p>\n

However, Laura Whitmore<\/a> has revealed that the classic twist has been axed from the show as the winners won\u2019t be given the option.<\/p>\n

Opening tonight\u2019s show, Whitmore said: \u201cThe winning couple will split a huge \u00a350,000. And, this year, we are not even asking them to choose between love or money.\u201d<\/p>\n

The big prize money twist was introduced in the very first season of Love Island \u2013 however, none of the winning couples have chosen to steal the money.<\/p>\n

Once the winner is announced, in previous years, the couple have chosen from two envelopes, with one containing the \u00a350,000 prize and another being completely empty.<\/p>\n

The contestant with the \u00a350,000 was then asked whether they would share the money with their beau or keep it for themselves.<\/p>

Love Island\u2019s live show is currently underway, with Andrew Le Page<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tasha Ghouri,<\/a>\u00a0Luca Bish<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Gemma Owen<\/a>, \u00a0Davide Sanclimenti <\/a>and\u00a0Ekin-Su Cu\u0308lcu\u0308log\u0306lu<\/a> and Dami Hope<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Indiyah Polack<\/a> hoping to take home that big prize.<\/p>\n
