And during an exclusive interview with\u00a0RadioTimes.com<\/a>,\u00a0Thomas revealed that the show will revisit the family in season 12<\/a>, with Rhoda set to have another baby.<\/p>\n The new pregnancy \u201cputs them under a certain amount of pressure and gives them a lot to worry about\u201d, Thomas explained.<\/p>\n She added: \u201cWe haven\u2019t actually been with that family for five years, so we\u2019re picking up the pieces for them and it makes for a very special Christmas special.\u201d<\/p>\n Thomas went on to reveal other emotive storylines set to feature\u00a0in this year\u2019s Christmas special.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also have a story featuring a young woman who\u2019s recently been discharged from prison as a single mother and how she finds a community at Christmas when she\u2019s completely alone in the world,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd we also have a talent show, which has been enormous fun, honestly, both to write, rehearse and film. So there\u2019s a lot of joy in there at Christmas as well.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cAnd looking forward to Christmas and beyond Christmas, something rather wonderful happens to Trixie, Lucille has to contend with a reasonable amount of sadness, and what else can I say? We have a new nun coming to join the line-up, Sister Veronica.\u201d<\/p>\n The update on season 12<\/a> comes shortly after the team behind Call the Midwife announced that filming is complete on this year\u2019s Christmas special and work on the new batch of episodes is well underway.<\/p>\n In a post on the show\u2019s official\u00a0Facebook<\/a>\u00a0page, a spokesperson explained that\u00a0Call the Midwife<\/a>\u00a0is now midway through production and taking a short break in filming for the summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cFilming days can be very long, and the hours very inhospitable \u2013 and so our production likes to reward our team with a decent break midway through, so that they can return refreshed to complete the series,\u201d they explained<\/p>\n The statement continued: \u201cSo how are we doing? Really, really well! We have already completed Christmas filming, and are well into season 12!
