Neighbours boss Jason Herbison has responded to the complaints around the scene, with the producer saying that it all came down to timing.<\/p>\n
Speaking to TV Tonight<\/a>, Herbison explained that the duo were only meant to make a \u201csmall appearance\u201d on the soap in order not to \u201covershadow\u201d the rest of the cast.<\/p>\n \u201cOur discussions with Jason and Kylie were always about making a small appearance,\u201d he said. \u201cThey didn\u2019t want to overshadow the current cast or make the finale about them.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also filmed their scenes before I\u2019d written the episode, so whatever we filmed had to fit in with that.<\/p>\n \u201cI hate to see Kylie copping any criticism \u2013 she was nothing short of amazing on the day.\u201d<\/p> The Neighbours finale also saw Natalie Imbruglia and Holly Valance reprise their roles as Beth Brennan and Felicity Scully respectively, while Guy Pearce returned as Mike Young<\/a>, who finally reunited with his former love Jane Harris (Annie Jones).<\/p>\n There were some scenes that had to be cut from the final episode however, with script producer Shane Isheev revealing there was a \u201cbeautiful\u201d moment between Callum (Morgan Baker) and Melanie (Lucinda Cowden)<\/a> after\u00a0her wedding to Toadie<\/a> that was cut.<\/p>\n Neighbours\u2019 final episode, as well as <\/strong>Neighbours Made Me a Star and\u00a0<\/strong>Neighbours: All the Pop Hits & More Especially For You, are available on catch-up on\u00a0My 5<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>Check out more of our\u00a0Soaps<\/a>\u00a0coverage or visit our\u00a0TV Guide<\/a>\u00a0to see what\u2019s on tonight.<\/strong><\/p>\n The latest issue of Radio Times magazine is on sale now \u2013\u00a0subscribe now<\/a>\u00a0and get the next 12 issues for only \u00a31.
