Shetland\u2019s Douglas Henshall says the case in series 7 will get \u201cmurkier and murkier\u201d as it goes along.<\/p>\n

The actor is reprising his role as DI Jimmy Perez in the acclaimed BBC One series \u2013\u00a0based on Ann Cleeves\u2019s book series \u2013\u00a0for the final time<\/a> after nearly a decade in the role. The upcoming six-parter will follow Perez and his team\u2019s investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a vulnerable young man, which draws<\/span> him into the secret past of a family new to Shetland, revealing an unimaginable threat to the community. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about the case at the heart of season 7, Henshall said: \u201cIt seems as though it\u2019s a missing person but then it becomes murkier and murkier as it goes along. I really love that there\u2019s no dead body at the start of this new series and the suspense of that is great.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Henshall also spoke about his decision to bid farewell to Perez and how he wanted the character to \u201cgo out on a high\u201d.<\/p>\n
