Kris Marshall, on the other hand, has been at the centre of many Doctor Who casting rumours every time there\u2019s a vacancy in the TARDIS. The Love Actually actor revealed whether he was in the line-up during a chat in this week\u2019s issue of Radio Times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cIf I\u2019d been approached to audition for a show at the vanguard of TV for the last 50 years, I\u2019d at least have done my research, but I\u2019ve never seen an episode of Doctor Who. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s brilliant, but no, I\u2019ve never been approached.\u201d<\/p>\n He also explained why the rumours might have began in the first place. \u201cI left Death in Paradise<\/a> at around the same time as Peter Capaldi left Doctor Who, so the tabloids must have put two and two together to make five,\u201d he said.<\/p> Though he won\u2019t be appearing in Doctor Who \u2013 at least not as the Doctor in the upcoming season \u2013 Marshall will soon be reprising the role of DI Humphrey Goodman for Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise<\/a>.<\/p>\n Speaking about the new series, the actor told the latest issue of Radio Times<\/strong> that it\u2019s going have one big difference<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe classic Death in Paradise way of wrapping up the show is spun on its head a bit \u2013 not every episode is a murder \u2013 so more sheep rustling and stuff like that,\u201d he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n Read the full interview with Kris Marshall in this week\u2019s Radio Times \u2013 out Tuesday 9th August.<\/strong><\/p>\n Doctor Who<\/a>\u00a0is available to stream on\u00a0BBC iPlayer<\/a>\u00a0with episodes of the classic series also available on BritBox \u2013 you can sign up for a\u00a07-day free trial here<\/a>.
