Not only has showrunner Allan Heinberg already outlined that he is \u201cready to go\u201d<\/a> for a potential second season, but Gaiman himself has teased that a number of spin-offs could be on the cards as well.<\/p>\n Specifically, the revered author has revealed that a separate series focusing on Jenna Coleman\u2019s character Johanna Constantine could be a goer at some point in the future.<\/p> \u201cAnybody who has seen The Sandman episode 3 has sidled over to us at some point or other in the last six months and said, \u2018Do you think there\u2019s any possibility that we could do a Johanna Constantine show with Jenna Coleman?’\u201d he told Variety<\/a> in a recent interview.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd, oh my God, she\u2019s a star and you just want to see her going through battling demons and destroying other people\u2019s lives. So that\u2019s in there, too. We can keep going on this for a long time to come.\u201d<\/p>\n And Gaiman isn\u2019t alone in hoping to do more with Coleman\u2019s character. In a separate interview with Rolling Stone<\/a>, Heinberg teased that \u201cWe\u2019d love to do more Johanna Constantine in the present.\u201d<\/p>\n The character is based on the DC Comics character John Constantine \u2013 who has previously been portrayed in live-action by both Keanu Reeves and Matt Ryan \u2013 and is an occult detective known for investigating all manner of paranormal disturbances from hauntings to exorcisms.<\/p>\n And Coleman actually plays two different versions of the character in the series \u2013 one of them based in the modern day, and the other an\u00a0identical\u00a0eighteenth-century ancestor.<\/p>\n The Sandman is streaming on Netflix<\/a> now.
