The Strictly 2022 line-up<\/a> news was announced this morning on Hits Radio Breakfast, which East current hosts alongside James Barr and Matt Haslam.<\/p>\n East will be joining the likes of\u00a0Will Mellor<\/a>,\u00a0Kym Marsh<\/a>,\u00a0Kaye Adams<\/a>,\u00a0Richie Anderson<\/a>,\u00a0Jayde Adams<\/a>,\u00a0Ellie Simmonds<\/a>,\u00a0Tyler West<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Matt Goss<\/a> on the dance floor later this year, all of whom revealed they\u2019d be taking part earlier in the week.<\/p>\n Speaking to Ranvir Singh on Lorraine about signing up for Strictly, East said that she is taking part for her father, who passed away in 2020.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to be doing it for him. I\u2019m just gutted he can\u2019t see me do it, but I\u2019m going to keep him in mind during the show\u2026 I\u2019m excited, my family, just for that reason, will be buzzing.\u201d<\/p>\n On whether having dance experience from performing on stage will help her, East said: \u201cThere\u2019s too much pressure, I\u2019m so nervous, Ranvir.<\/p>\n \u201cI can dance in the club and when I\u2019m singing on stage, but I have never done any technical dancing, so I don\u2019t know anything ballroom, how to point a toe or anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n With Strictly 2022 set to air later this year, here\u2019s everything you need to know about Fleur East.<\/p>\n Age:\u00a0<\/strong>34<\/p>\n Job:\u00a0<\/strong>Singer and presenter<\/p>\n Instagram:\u00a0<\/strong>@fleureast<\/a><\/p>\n Twitter:\u00a0<\/strong>@fleureast<\/a><\/p>\n Fleur East rose to fame after competing in The X Factor, auditioning solo in 2014 and making it through to the live-shows, coming in second place.<\/p>\n She has since found success with singles like Sax and More and More, before taking part in the 2018 season of I\u2019m a Celebrity\u2026Get Me Out of Here, finishing in fourth place.<\/p>\n In recent years she has moved into presenting, hosting the Hits Radio breakfast show and appearing on Ant & Dec\u2019s Saturday Night Takeaway.<\/p>\n Speaking about joining Strictly Come Dancing, Fleur East said she was \u201cequally nervous and thrilled\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited to learn new skills and I want to soak up every moment of this magical experience. It\u2019s such an honour to be on the show after years of watching it with my father who loved it so much.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cUnfortunately my dad is no longer with us but I know he will be watching over the ballroom in spirit. I\u2019m doing this to make him and my family proud and can\u2019t wait to get my dancing shoes on!\u201d<\/p>\n The BBC is yet to confirm when Strictly Come Dancing 2022 will officially start, however we do know that the launch show is being recorded on Wednesday 7th September.<\/p>\n It\u2019s likely that the dancing competition will return on Saturday 10th September as Tess and Claudia introduce the new line-up.<\/p>\n They said in a statement: \u201cDust off your dancing shoes, Strictly Come Dancing is back.<\/p>\n \u201cThe stunning 20th series returns, bringing glamour and show-stopping dancing back to Saturday nights on BBC One \u2013 and we\u2019re extremely excited to be able to welcome an audience back to the studio for this year\u2019s shows.\u201d<\/p>\n Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in 2022.
