\u201cI like to cast as inclusively as possible,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s more interesting. Also, if you can\u2019t cast diversely on Doctor Who<\/a>, what show can you do it on?\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cIt goes everywhere, on this planet and others, and you don\u2019t want to see the same kind of people all the time. You don\u2019t want it to be exclusively middle-class white people speaking with RP accents.\u201d<\/p>\n Pryor added that Davies \u201cfeels the same way\u201d about diverse casting and that they are \u201cmore keen than [they\u2019ve] ever been\u201d to focus on inclusivity.<\/p>\n \u201cSo right now we\u2019re casting more diversely in terms of ethnicity. We\u2019re casting more disabled actors\u2026 But there\u2019s always more we can do.<\/p>\n \u201cCertainly, there\u2019s absolutely no excuse to not cast a disabled actor in a disabled role nowadays.<\/p> \u201cAlso, we\u2019re trying to cast disabled people in roles that aren\u2019t necessarily written as disabled,\u201d he said. \u201cWe don\u2019t always want disabled casting to be \u2018issue\u2019 casting. So our horizons are widening.
