Now, a Netflix<\/a> series based on the family\u2019s macabre daughter, Wednesday<\/a>, is coming to our screens \u2013 and it looks like she\u2019ll be portrayed differently yet again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This time, she\u2019ll be older and in high school \u2013 still moody, but now more independent.<\/p>\n \u201cThe relationship that kind of hangs over the season is really Wednesday\u2019s relationship with Morticia,\u201d co-showrunner Al Gough told Vanity Fair<\/a>. \u201cHow do you step out of the shadow of a mother as glamorous as Morticia?\u201d<\/p>\n Gough went on to explain how Wednesday will have a love-hate relationship with her family.<\/p>\n \u201cWednesday\u2019s not scared of sharks or creepy crawlies or anything, but she\u2019s afraid of emotion,\u201d he added. \u201cTheir overt displays of affection drive Wednesday crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n This includes her brother. \u201cShe\u2019s allowed to torture him,\u201d co-showrunner Miles Millar says. \u201cNobody else is. That\u2019s the difference. She will defend him to the end against bullies or anything else, but she has license to do what she wants. She\u2019s very protective of him in a Wednesday way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Millar continued: \u201cEvery family is weird, and this one happens to be extremely weird, but they love each other.
